| I recently had an employee who left for 8 days of vacation without communicating open work items left on their desk to their supervisor, nor completing a deadline for a project. In addition, this EE didn't advise their co-workers who filter work to them that they were going on vacation. We have had several performance issues and documented discussions about completing all work before leaving each day, and if not they must notify their supervisor. We even have issues of poor performance and slow production levels. I believe we have cause to terminate but wanted some advise of what others have done in smiliar situations.

| I think as long as you have documentation that this person has been warned several times about the same problem, you're good. Just make sure you actually have documentation or you'll lose with the EDD.

In reading your post I thought of a possible problem. Who signed her vacation request form? Basically someone above her said yes it is ok to go on vacation. Just something to think about.
