I had an employee complain of a headache. We are a nursing facility so the nurse in charge took her blood pressure. It was extremely high. The employee called her Dr. and made an appointment for 2 days later. The employee was then told by a supervisor that she had to go home till her Dr. provided a note that says she can work. This employee has lost 2 days pay until she can provide a medical note saying she can perform her duties.

I am would like to know if this can be done. The employee was working and able to do her job, when does an employer have the right to send someone home?

Please advise me of where I can find any such regulation saying this can or can not be done.

Thanks in advance.
