I work in the healthcare industry with 70 + employees. We are not a hospital. Our cost for healthcare continues to rise and we are at a loss as to how to be able to keep and attract employees without going broke in the process. We currently offer an allowance for the benefits. it used to cover both medical and dental but now only covers about 75% of the HMO medical. Is anyone out there a medical facility who offers medical and dental benefits. What plans do you offer? Any and all feedback wopuld be helpful. Do you cover the full cost, give an allowance or ??? Is it legal to offer those who do not take the benefit a stipen per pay?

Yes your employees can opt out and receive additional pay for this. If I remember correctly this site has an opt out 'agreement' you can print out and have your employees sign when they choose this option. Just make sure you read all the regulations before you do this.
You are in a tough group size right now. We are not in the healthcare industry but also are stuck in the same size group, medical benefits related. Unfortunately until something changes in the healthcare industry it looks like groups our size have no real options benefits related. The increases each year are unbearble for the business and more and more is being pushed onto the employee, even for self only coverage. The only 2 ways out of this group size, relating to medical, and to have more options is to go below 50 employees (full time) or go above 250 employees (full time). A far way off from 70, which is about where we are at also.
Each year we also have to share a portion of the increase with our employees. I am curious to see how many companies out there also have to have employees pay a portions of their medical for employee only coverage.
