We are considering implementing a flexible work schedule (9/80). Does anyone have a similar program already in place? What does your work week look like? Are we required to have the same workweek for all employees or can it be different between the departments?

I use to work for another company that used the 9/80 work week plan. We had a choice of haveing Monday or Friday as our "light day" (off one week and 8 hours the next week). I really liked it.

We are considering implementing an alternative workweek policy as well and there is an abundance of information on this CA Chamber HR website - forms, procedure for implementing, etc. You can implement it by work unit, doesn't have to be company-wide; I took the following from CA Chamber HR Website:

"A work unit may be a division, department, job classification, shift, separate physical location or recognized subdivision of any such work unit. A work unit may consist of an individual employee if he/she is the only person in the divisiion, department, job classification, shift, separate physical location, or recognized suibdivision of any such work unit."
