We are a manufacturing plant and generally run 5 days per week. Our office workers tend to come on site on weekends to do some "catch up" work. Our concern is their safety while in the office alone. What if the employee gets hurt and is unable to reach a phone (passes out due to pre-existing health conditions, heart attack, etc.). We would like to know how other companies handle this. Are employees permitted to work alone or is there a blanket policy that prohibits employees from entering the worksite during off hours?
