Day after day I come to work and have to watch behind my back in fear that the owner of the company is going to sneek up behind me and growl loudly. He thinks its funny, but its very disturbing to me and makes me feel uncomfortable. He does it to everyone in the office so I am not being singled out. I know it bothers others too, but no one will say anythig. I don't know how to let him know that its not appropriate. I mean, no one likes to have to watch their back in fear of being startled. What do you think? Harrassment or not? As HR Manager what should I do?

Thanks, TG

I would say it's harassment, but, based on the information provided, it does not sound like harassment.

I would just have a private conversation with the owner and explain that people are uncomfortable with the behavior.

In my above post I had illegal in bold.. for some reason it was deleted when the post posted.

So, it should say, 'It sounds like harassment, but from the information provided it does not sound like illegal harassment."
