| We are soon being acquired by a larger company, does anyone have advice on calming employees' fear? My concerns are how to prevent resistance to change, & fleeing the company.

| One piece of advice: be open and honest about anticipated changes. Most people will flee from the unknown; if you are aware of specific changes that are sure to take place, both good and bad, communicate this to your current employees. They will appreciate the information and it can help to increase their trust in the organization. If they know what to expect they can make an informed decision about their employment with the organization, instead of simply leaving the company out of fear for what the future will hold for them as an employee.

| I agree with the other post. Open and honest communication is critical. You may also want to have employee meetings with the acquiring company's management and have them provide some reassurance, if possible. The situation is a tough one to maintain the moral and focus of employees. Silence is NOT golden under the circumstances. Keep employees informed!
