We have an employee who's company laptop was stolen out of her trunk over the weekend. In her signed laptop responsibility agreement there is a clause in there that states that employees will reimburse the company for the cost of the laptop should it be damaged/stolen while off of our premises. Is anyone aware of any laws that would not allow us to require the employee to reimburse the company for her negligence?
