I work for a company that employs our own deliver drivers. I want to put a policy in place that states if they get 1 point on their driver license causing our insurance rate to go up they will be terminated. Is this a rightful termination. I also would like to state if they have an accident that is deemed their fault we can term them as well. Any thoughts?

Our company is an overnight delivery service company. I have seen manager terminated employees due to their driving record and at fault accidents. We are an “At Will” employer. In our handbook we do inform the employee that post-accidents they are required to take a drug and alcohol test. Failure or refusal of the test will be ground for immediate termination.
