Our Executive Director (for a non profit) has been arraigned for felony embezzlement during her previous job with another non profit. Is there any reason we should not place the employee on administrative (paid) leave while conducting an audit to be sure nothing similar was done to us?

I would look at their Offer Letter to see what language is in it, look at my Application (the one with their signature on it) to see what language is in it, then I would consult my attorney. If they are an officer of the company, the attorney may say it's appropriate, or they may say to just do an audit. I wonder if you ever resolved this and I'd be curious to know. I wish these forums were more active! Good luck!
