With the FaceBook fad growing, does anyone have any ideas about what to do if employees post remarks about happenings at work? Specially if they are exagerated to make the event funny/entertaining. Should we have a policy in our handbook ?

All of us in HR should be adding a Social Media policy to our employee handbooks. I have seen some good templates on the SHRM website, as well as other HR related websites. Choose one that best suits your needs and customize it for your organization.

What if the employees were required by the employer to enhance the business by doing facebook page postings during ? Should this time be compensable?

It is compensable and must be compensated, particularly whereas non-exempt status applies.
