| How does your organization allow staff to donate sick or vacation leave to other employees? Do you have traditional plans or PTO?

We recently (Jan 10) moved to a PTO plan and established a Leave Share Bank that accepts donations for specific individuals going through a serious FMLA/CFRA eligible situation. The bank also accepts donations to a 'bank' that individuals in need (FMLA eligible) can appy for PTO hours. This bank is administered by a committee that reviews requests. We are focusing our efforts in HR to help develop and support a more work/life balance environment, especially in these really difficult times.
We accept donated PTO time on an basis, much easier to administer . This process can also lower our expense, in that this can also encourage our senior management, and those with higher salaries, to donate and often these donations end up positively impacting our 'bottom line' even though we are a non profit. This provides us a way to support our employees and lowering our expenses also.
