| Is there a time limit on paying expense reimbursement? I have an employee who does not turn in expenses until months later.

1. I don't believe we can ever make our ees pay for business expenses of the firm by refusing to reimburse for expenses. ? The ee is now an investor in the business.
2. If the ee doesn't turn in their expenses until "months late," as you say, then it is a simple discipline problem, not a pay problem. We have to let them know we are serious, if it's such a big deal to us (sounds like it is--in some businesses we need to bill our expenses to a third party, and this sort of employee practice would put us at a big disadvantage where collecting expenses is concerned).
Ordinary discipline should be applied, just as in a situation where, for example, the employee consistently arrives late, or fails to produce work: warnings, time off without pay, termination all come to mind.
I get from this post that the ee may be valued, in that he or she is in sales and is a producer, or something like that. Owner's son-in-law? In that sort of situation, you have to decide to either care or not care. Seems to me.
