I thought I recently read an article on the Cal Chamber site indicating that it is now legal in the State of California to issue an employee's final paycheck via automatic deposit, providing they had been receiving their checks via automatic deposit prior to their separation. Is this correct?
I have an ee who has given notice. Her last day of work is Thurs., June 1. If I run her final check with the regular payroll the pay will be deposited to her bank account on Friday, June 2. Would I be compliant with State Law?

| If the EE has given more than 72 hours notice, their final payment will need to be paid on their last day of work. If the EE has given less than 72 hours, then the employer has 72 hours to issue their final paycheck.
